Official Statement re the GoPro Lawsuit

Posted by Andi Lucas on 28th Apr 2014

GoPro sued by Dinkum for patent infringement and other claims related to its release of the Jaws Flex Clamp.

Boulder, Colorado-based company Dinkum Systems, Inc has filed suit in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado alleging that GoPro’s release of the Jaws Flex Clamp product infringes Dinkum’s patent rights.  In addition, Dinkum alleges that GoPro has engaged in unfair competition as well as deceptive trade practices.

The Jaws Flex Clamp, released by GoPro in Q3 2013, competes with Dinkum’s ActionPod® clamping camera mount that has been available for several years. Given their previous co-promotional and friendly relationship with GoPro, Dinkum Systems CEO and inventor, John Mans said he is disappointed to have to take legal action and is hopeful for a speedy and fair resolution to the case.
